Virtual Items Policy

This Virtual Items Policy applies to digital and virtual items made available through noveltree, including coins, chapter unlocks, full-book unlocks, tips, promotional credits, badges, and similar non-physical items or services.
1. Who Offers Virtual Items
noveltree is operated by Fictiondex Inc., 18 King Street East, Suite 1400, Toronto, ON, M5C 1C4, Canada. Fictiondex Inc. offers the virtual items described in this policy unless a different provider is identified to you at the point of purchase.
2. Related Terms And Eligibility
Our Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and any applicable product, promotion, subscription, or campaign terms also apply to your access to and use of virtual items. If there is a conflict between this policy and a more specific virtual item or promotion term that applies to your transaction, the more specific term will control.
noveltree is a service for adults only. You must be at least 18 years old to access or use virtual items, buy coins, unlock paid content, or send tips through noveltree. If local law requires a higher age for a particular transaction or feature, that higher age requirement still applies.
3. What Virtual Items Are
Virtual items are digital items, digital rights, or digital services that may be used only within noveltree. They may include coins, digital access entitlements, chapter unlocks, full-book access, tips, promotional balances, badges, or other in-product features we make available from time to time.
Virtual items are not money, deposits, stored value accounts, investment products, or bank accounts. They have no cash value outside noveltree and cannot be redeemed for currency except where required by applicable law.
4. Coins
Coins are digital items that may be used within noveltree's micropayment system to unlock eligible digital content, purchase or activate certain digital services, or send tips where those features are offered. The number of coins needed for a given feature will be shown before you use them.
Where our interface provides it, your account may display your current coin balance and a history of coin purchases, redemptions, and other eligible uses.
5. How You Can Buy Virtual Items
Virtual items may be purchased directly from Fictiondex Inc. through noveltree, through an app store, or through another authorized payment or distribution channel identified at the point of purchase. Additional terms from app stores, payment providers, or gift-card providers may also apply.
6. Pricing, Taxes, And Real-World Price Information
The total price payable for virtual items will be displayed at the point of purchase in the applicable currency, together with any taxes or mandatory charges we are required to display. Your bank, card issuer, app store, or payment provider may impose additional fees such as foreign exchange or payment processing fees, which are outside our control.
Where virtual items are used to buy or unlock digital content or services, we will present pricing and pre-contract information in the manner required by applicable law, including clear information about what you are buying, any important restrictions, and, where required, the real-world monetary price of the relevant content or service.
We will not intentionally use pricing or coin displays in a way that obscures the real-world cost of digital content or services purchased through noveltree.
7. Using Virtual Items
Virtual items may be used only within noveltree and only for the purposes we make available, such as unlocking chapters, unlocking full books, activating eligible digital services, or tipping creators. They may not be sold to, purchased from, or exchanged with other users outside authorized noveltree features.
If you use coins or another virtual item to tip a creator, you are authorizing noveltree to apply that tip within the platform according to the applicable creator, publisher, or payout arrangement. Tips are voluntary and are generally treated as consumed immediately once submitted.
8. Refunds, Withdrawal Rights, And Changes Of Mind
If you purchased a virtual item through an app store, that app store may control refunds and cancellations, subject to its own terms and any rights you have under applicable law.
If you purchased a virtual item directly from Fictiondex Inc., refunds are available where required by law, where the virtual item was defective or not delivered as promised, or where we state otherwise at the point of purchase.
If local law gives you a cooling-off or withdrawal right, those rights continue to apply. For example, if you live in a jurisdiction that grants withdrawal rights for unused coins purchased directly from us, we will honor those rights for the unused portion as required by law.
If you buy digital content or services that are supplied immediately, we may ask for your express consent to begin performance right away and, where permitted by law, your acknowledgment that this may affect or end any cancellation or withdrawal right once the content or service starts.
9. Expiry, Promotional Credits, And No Cash Value
Unless we clearly tell you otherwise at the point of purchase and local law permits it, paid coins do not expire solely because of the passage of time while your account remains active and in good standing. Promotional or bonus credits may expire if we clearly disclose the expiry date or conditions when granting them.
Except as required by law, virtual items cannot be redeemed for cash and cannot be transferred, sublicensed, pledged, sold, or traded outside noveltree.
10. Failed Payments, Chargebacks, And Abuse
You are responsible for chargebacks, reversed payments, failed payments, and fees arising from your payment method or your use of virtual items. If a payment fails, is reversed, or remains unpaid, we may suspend your access to the relevant virtual items, freeze the disputed amount, reverse a related benefit, or take other reasonable steps permitted by law.
We may limit, suspend, or revoke virtual items where we reasonably suspect fraud, charge abuse, unauthorized activity, or a material violation of our Terms of Service or this policy, subject to any mandatory legal rights you have.
11. Availability And Service Changes
Virtual items, prices, bundles, features, and eligible uses may change over time. We will not use this policy to unfairly deprive you of non-waivable consumer rights. If we discontinue a paid virtual item or materially change how it works, we will provide any notice or remedy required by applicable law.
